Wedding Photographer Pageant House and Sports Connexion | James and Carly
On Saturday 7th April I had a lovely day as the wedding photographer for the wedding of James and Carly who got married at the Pageant House in Warwick.
The day was split over many venues, for me, it started at the Warwick Arms Hotel, where Carly and her sister were staying to prepare for the wedding day ahead.
I arrived and photographed some candid images in the room and in the hotel reception area before we headed off to the Pageant House for the ceremony which is a short walk away.
I have photographed many weddings at the Pageant House it is a lovely venue for small weddings, with a nice exit into the gardens. Once we arrived at Pageant House, I met up with James who was looking very nervous but he managed to keep it together. The ceremony was very emotional as usual with most weddings but its always nice to see a couple tie the knot and to capture the mood of the day.
After the ceremony, we headed out into the pageant gardens, where I concentrated on taking relaxed photos and then we did some family groupings for the formal photographs. I think it's important not to rush the photography and allow everybody some time to congratulate the happy couple and relax after the ceremony.
The next part of the day was afternoon tea held at Jambavan Restaurant that is just opposite the gardens. Here afternoon teas and cakes had been arranged in the upstairs area of the restaurant.
This particular weekend in Warwick was a busy one with the National Town Crier Championships also taking place in the gardens of the registry office who thankfully wasn't around when the wedding ceremony finished but had returned to the gardens just in time for the end of the afternoon tea. Naturally, this was a photo opportunity too good to miss.
After this, James, Carly and their son Charlie and I headed to the Mill Gardens for some relaxed wedding portraits. The walk to the Mill Garden is almost as attractive as the gardens themselves, I grew up in Warwick but I am still intrigued by its hidden alleys and historic architecture.
The Mill Garden was as usual stunning, the river, the ruined bridge and the Castle is just a fantastic setting and of course of the lovely plants and flowers.
After the gardens, James and Carly and I had a break from the wedding photography for a few hours and I met up with them again at the Sports Connexion near Ryton on Dunsmore. Where the plan was to spend a few hours photographing casual groups, the cutting of the cake and the first dance.
It was a great day, that I very much enjoyed. The weather forecast was heavy rain and it held off, the town criers where a bonus and it was great to do a wedding in Warwick Town.
